Anita Aguirre lives in the Bribri village of Yorkín and is the finest weaver of 'senko' in the village. 'Senko' is strips of the tender, young leaves of the palm known as the escoba negra. In a carving workshop given a couple of years ago in her village, she also proved herself to be an adept wood carver of animal figures. She is passing on her weaving skills to her children.
