Fernando Porras is an ex-bus driver from Puntarenas, a port town on the Pacific coast. In his 6th decade he decided it was finally time to try his hand at something he really loved. That turned out to be making wood carvings. The products of his new found talent are funky and quirky representations of animals such as iguanas, sloths, crabs etc. For material he uses the hairy lower trunk of palm trees, driftwood, mango branches etc.
