      A powerful mask representing an ancestor - a warrior chieftain with feather headdress and gold accoutrements signaling rank. A coatimundi skull is affixed to his forehead. This carved and painted (balsa) wood mask was worn in the indigenous village of Boruca in the southern Pacific coast watershed of Costa Rica, in their traditional ceremony Danza de los Diablitos.
